Hoosier Muskie Hunters took the trophy, MMA was second, Chicagoland was third and Webster Lake was fourth.

Individual Awards:
1st – Airic ?? 35, 40.5, 42.5
2nd – Vince Weirick 36.5, 36.5, 38.25
3rd – Will Schultz 32, 33, 38

Webster had been tough all week but turned out 19 fish on Saturday. The other four fish were caught on Barbee.

Hopefully everybody that signed up was actually fishing on Saturday – there weren't many of us at lunch! Our points were divided among those that registered by paper, phone or e-mail. If you registered and didn't fish we lost points.

If I miss anyone or mess up the size you caught, I'm sorry let me know and I'll post it.
MMA Fish Caught:
Chuck Stickney – 35
Mike Stinson – 40
Scott Abbatoy-38
Will Schultz – 32, 33, 38

You asked how the IOC went and after being on the water from 2 PM to 6 PM on Friday I thought it was the ICE UP event!! Combo of rain, snow, and sleet encouraged you to not take off your gloves unless you absolutely had to. I had on Glaciar Gloves which work great but I discovered I could NOT palm the reel because if I did water was getting in the two slots on the index finger and thumb from the line when being reeled in. With temps in the low to mid 30's that was a killer. That Rib Eye and a couple beers after followed by a hot shower and sleep made my day. Fred boated one Friday and I got one on Saturday. We fished Webster both days. I heard at the wrap up after there were something like 22 fish total caught by 72 participants on Saturday. It was hard work, but somebody had to do it!

I was on Webster Fri too. 16ft Tracker with a kicker.
Apparently I need a lesson in how to fish these lakes. Every thing I've ever heard says to find the warmest water on the north side of the lake. That stuff was all dead weeds. I can't see dead weeds producing habitat for baitfish, therefore no Muskies.

My next choice would have been the backwaters, but I made a quick once over there and same story.

Since I'm at a loss at this point I drove around a little thinking I would see 'schools' of shad. I marked one place on the southwest, to southern midlake. It was warmer there and a steep break. I pounded that spot for a bit and made a few trolling passes through it but still nothing.

oh well to many fish to give up. I'll be on it somemore in the future.

Lon – Pre spawn fish are going to be tough normally. Saturday they just started eating at Webster for some reason, that is normally not the case.

Well after getting blanked during the IOC while fishing the Barbee chain we caught a 34" trolling a tuff shad saturday evening at about 6:10 then another one Sunday morning at about 9 am 36" same(blue/white) tuff shad. Both on Webster both over open water(30 plus feet). Took Wills advice and looked shallow fishing the Backwaters and moved a ton of Fish and a couple were brutes. All spooked before getting close to the boat. Michelle had one fish up that was upper 40's on a rainbow sucker Little claw. Cant figure out why they were so spooky except for the fact that the water was only 4 foot deep and very clear. Should have gotten one to eat out away from the boat as hard as several of them charged in. It was better Sunday that was for sure.
