Probably never going to go there, but I thought I'd ask questions. How big is Eagle Lake? Location, is it by LOTW? Do you go out with a guide everyday or is that one day and go out on your own. There boats or you drag yours up? Too hot to fish so I thought I'd ask some questions about muskie fishing.
Eagle Lake is 60,000 acres+ i think something like 66 thousand. It is north of LOTW, but not that far. Check on google maps if you want to see the actual distance.
Ive never been there, but i imagine you can get a guide for as many days as you want. You just have to pay good amount for a guide per day.
All camps in canada u can bring ur own boat to pretty much. Cuts your cost of staying at camps, but you pay extra hauling it all the way up there.

Just check out their site as it has a lot of the information you are seeking. We use their upgrade boats and go guided a couple days out of the week. You can really just work out any plan you want to as Steve is very flexible. We do the housekeeping plan as we don't want to pay that much for lodge cooked meals. It is a great place to stay as the guides are the best on the lake, but there are definitely cheaper places to stay on Eagle. I would recommend AML as it is an amazing camp and you will learn a ton, but you can definitely stay at other places for less money.
I was there the first week of october last year…awesome trip and place and the worst fishing trip at the same time. Its a great lake, fished with guides 4 days, learned a lot, but didnt hook a single fish. saw a few but no eaters.Weather is everything on that lake, it was hotter than hell everyday, up to 87 deg!! water temps rose 10-15 deg in the week we were there alone. the wind blew 25-40 mph steady every day steady and changed directions every day too. went all week without seeing a single cloud also….. fishing conditions couldnt have been worse!!!!!
Herbie is an awesome guy!!! that man will teach you more in one conversation than you could learn in a year on that lake, he has more passion for Muskies and conservation than anyone Ive ever met. The lodge is a typical canada lodge, good guys, good drinks and good conversations. Its definetly someplace Ill return to, without planning the trip 10 months in advance!! I would recomend it to anyone that wants an opportunity to catch the biggest fish of their life, I saw some HUGE fish, they are in there.
if you get Kal as a guide ,plan on casting your a$$ off for 8 hours nonstop, he works you to death, but he is awesome at boat control and getting you on the spot to cast every time. All the guides work hard and try to teach as they go, wich is nice.
if you have a nice boat bring it, the upgrade boats are nothing to brag about, but not that bad either.the standard boat is a row boat!the $350 upgrade price sucks in my opinion.
I would highly recomend AML, just realize you will only fish 2% of that lake in a week, and everywhere you look is a better looking place to fish than what we have around here..
AML is one of those bucket list places, but it seems the vast majority of people who go only talk about the big fish they have seen, but not caught… I struggle… Seems like you would have to go 10 times or more to actually hook up with a pig. Other than don hunt, I have not heard of anyone I know actually catching a monster. I think the VandeKoples have had the best success I have heard of..
