If you look at the cone shaped gear on the inside of the crank side plate where the drive shaft goes through, you should see it has a slot in the middle kinda like this ( ). That needs to line up with the little bars on the spool to turn the spool.

Hi Jim, I take mine apart all the time. Take it apart and look carefully at how it fits back together. If you cant fix it send ti to me Ill put her back together for you. Mike
