I thinking of getting out on Wednesday and I have it narrowed down to 2 lakes: Thorn or Campau. I've never fished Campau before and Thorn is tough no matter when you go. Giving the weather forecast; 78* with 30% chance of thunderstorms(most likely in the afternoon), where would you go? I'd be heading out early AM and fishing until 1 or 2.

Campau is smaller and easier to cover the whole lake in the time you are gonna be out there. Pretty easy to narrow down where the fish are at if they are active.

Thorn is one of the tougher lakes in michigan regardless if you have fished it or not. I would try campau, the first 3 times i fished there i caught fish if that helps

Yep, definately Campau. You can fish the whole lake pretty thoroughly in 3-4 hrs. So given your time, you should be able to do it a few times. Lately, it seems the fish have been holding on the outside weed edge, and semi deep. Middle of last week, it seemed everything was nailed to the bottom, but this past Saturday, everything was starting to rise up some. Guessing it's from the little warmer weather. Try throwing twitchbaits like Shallow Invaders and Shallow Raiders. Position in 11-13 FOW and cast over the breaks. Also, make a few casts parrallel to the weedline every so often. It's not too early to throw some double 10's as well.

So Campau it is then. Thanks Jim for the extremely thorough breakdown.
