Nice…Beside the wonderful holds, dead muskie on his site and the net always in the bottom of the boat. "Someone" (I nominate the president) should drop him a note and let him know he's not catching GLS in Murray. Maybe he'll be at the GR show and we can give him an education he won't forget.
Yeah, I was less than impressed.
Thanks for that advice Scott. I've visited that website often.
It is my understanding from talking to local CO's and fisheries biologists that first the muskies in Murray lake were tigers. Then the DNR switched to a different 'strain'.
Could have been northern or GL. Nobody could give me a definite answer. I really don't care.
I "promote" the GL strain mainly because that's my belief that that is indeed what they are in Murray as well as the other bodies of water I guide/fish for them on.
I don't fish/guide for muskies only on Murray lake.
90%+ of my clients that I take musky fishing could give a shit less what strain they are. They just want to see, and or, catch a musky. Their not concerned with what it's pedigree is.
Michigan is the Great lakes state. The DNR is now stocking the Great Lakes strain. So that is what I will continue to promote.
Thanks again.

He seems to really care about educating his clients. We are lucky to have a great ambassador for local muskies.

It's funny you say this, because about a week or so ago, I also found his ad on CL, and dropped him an email telling him that he may want to change his wording from GLS to NS, since that was indeed what he had been catching. I wasn't as fortunate as Scott to receive such a prestigious response!
