Who's up for a little camping?

August 27, 28
Lake Margrethe (camping available)
We are tentatively looking at a bring your own lunch get together, at the beach in the campground, on Saturday the 27th, around 1:00 pm. We can share information, talk muskies, and plan any other gatherings for the weekend at that time. (I will be camping, so I expect a little campfire session in the evening is likely, also.) If anyone has any questions or other ideas, feel free to contact me. (Ken Murray, 269-468-3979, ** you do not have permission to see this link **)

Camping:
Lake Margrethe State Forest Campground is located right on the lake and also has a boat ramp.

Food and Lodging:
Many other options for food and lodging are available in Grayling, just 4-5 miles east of Lake Margrethe.

Yep. I'm seriously considering it. My wife keeps saying she wants to go camping. Especially before we have our 4th kid which is due in Nov. Right now, all the kids are old enough where it won't be too much trouble. The only thing that turns me off a little is how rustic it sounds. I'm more of a "camping in a hotel" kind of guy. 😯

Theres a good chance I'll make it up for this one and prolly would camp in the state park. I would like to make it to Margrethe sometime this summer before the outing as well to check it out, sounds like a nice lake.

I would like to make it to this outing, but probably wouldn't be able to bring the boat so would have to fill an open boat seat. I do have a very nice tent that will fit a couple people so if anyone is looking to camp and has an open seat let me know.

You'll all fall in love with this lake, even if the fish aren't moving.

I'll definitely be there, its only an hour away for me and I'll most likely have one or two open seats in my boat. Jason, your welcome to fish with me.

I fished it for the first time this year and what a goregous lake!! Be prepared for CRYSTAL clear water, bunch of wood lay downs, good points and a nice saddle area. Oh and the miltary base. A lot of the lake is wooded with little residental. Will is right… Just a flat out gorgeous lake. I was impressed!

Of course I do. I'm going to try to get the motorhome in working condition as well…

The water temps are dropping, I know that.
