Kevin,
A little bit of both as far as I understand. Some will likely be home bodies sticking around, but others will explore, movingin and out of ports. Pentwater lake will likely get visitors on occasion….

I am betting the salmon guys on the big lake see iincidental catches increase.

[quote="Brett Ladd"][quote="Will Schultz"]As this discussion is now off track I'll chime in with some food for thought…
Much of the "success" of the SW lakes is perceived. Most of the active members on this site are from that area so what people hear about on this site is those lakes. In the last five years there is just as much "success" on the Titt chain but 99% of it isn't shared on here or anywhere else.

I wanted to leave it alone, but come on! With the utmost respect for your knowledge and ability, thats just crazy talk! you cant create a post about putting a new PB in the boat everytime out, and then try sell people the the Titt is "just as "successful"…..especially in the last 5 yrs!

Completely disagree. I would expect the same results if I had spent the tens of thousands of hours on the Titt chain water that I've spent on the water within 2 hours of my house. That's not me telling you I'm any better than the next person! Just that I expect to know exactly when/where these big fish are going to be because I've spent so much time on these waters – nothing more.

I think if you spent thousands of hours on any body of water you would have or do have names for fish you catch more than once 😀 I have several thousand hours on Austin and name certain fish by GPS markers.

There are several other lakes in the area that we are catching and seeing fish on that dont get reported by myself in part because of what happened at Austin. I will say I am seeing smaller Muskie on Austin, Thank you very much MIDNR.
That said there is some very good fishing in SW MI. SW MI has been treated very well in stockings IMO. I am thrilled to see Muskegon river and Muskegon lake stocking. That was a home run on the planning group and the DNR! Good to see the awesome numbers coming from Wolf lake.

Happy Holidays guys!
