Chicago Lure Swap – January 10th
This is not an official part of the show but probably the best.
Muskie First sponsors a lure swap that is without a doubt the largest muskie lure swap on the planet.
Location: Official's Time Out in Hoffman Estates, IL (same place as 2007 and 2008)
Time: 7:00 PM
There will be a food drive associated with the swap.
More details and maps will follow for the swap.
The show is good and if you have never been it will feel like the Magic Kingdom. I mainly like the show because I get to hang with friends that I only get to see once a year.
The Lure Swap on the other hand is 90% of the reason I like going to the show. Once again it's more about getting to hang out with friends than anything and the look on faces (mine included) when they find that one lure that they have been trying to find for ten years. They wanted it so badly that they trade a brand new $25 lure for something that isn't worth $5 to the other person. I love the lure swap.
This year I'm working with Muskie First to make the food drive even bigger. There will be a bunch of prizes (Okuma Rods/Reels and a bunch of lures) – to get a ticket for the drawing you need to bring some food! More details will be coming…
