Did a search and couldn't really find any good info. The hooks on the 10" hellhound are super small compared to the body of the bait. I think that we've hooked about 4-5 fish that all came off within a few seconds this year. Anybody experiment with two big hooks or more space between the body and the hooks with any success?

Relative to all gliders you get a lot of nippers, or fish that try to suck it in, they end up lightly hooked and only stay pinned for a couple seconds (one of the reasons I'll be a lifetime member of the gliders suck club). With that specific bait I think the hook size is fine but the overall weight is going to cause problems enabling fish to throw it easier.

I put Mustad 7551 hooks on mine and they hook up better and keep the bait a little deeper. You can experiment with sizes to see what you like but 6/0 is a good starting point. Bigger hooks really don't seem to hurt the larger HH's action.
