Got her done just in time for the opener. It is the 8'6" MH St Croix SC IV Blank, with a tour star grip… the same as some golf club manufacturers use, glued over EVA foam to make it super light. I used titanium SiC stripper guides, and titanium alconite k style running guides. I am hoping the k style with its wrap around frame will allow the frame to flex on a single foot guide, instead of the ring flexing. This should assist in keeping the ceramic insert in place. Ill keep you posted… The tip is also a titanium frame SiC ring. I was going for less weight to see if I could do it, and it came in at 6.4 oz. the factory rod is 7.6 with a split grip [smilie=brows.gif] so I'd say that was a successful mission.

[quote="Will Schultz"]Aw man… for some reason I thought you were going with micro guides. Probably good that you didn't considering it would be a problem with ice. That's one sweet stick!!
other than weight I am not sure Im sold on the micro thing yet. especially for this application.
Function wouldn't be a concern if I was having you build one of these for me, the micro guides would just look cool. One thing in addition to weight though would be less resistance during a figure eight.
