I have gotten some reports that Little Claws have been getting it done this season all over the state. I am going to make a batch of 24 in a couple of weeks. I am going to offer them to all MMA club members at a special price. Normally 16.99 Im going to offer up 4 packs for 50.00. Thats 12.50 each plus shipping or if you like you can stop at the shop and pick them up. This batch should be finished about June 1st. Mike

Little claws work there is no doubt about it, especially in cooler water, even caught the fish in my avatar on one. I think i'm set with the 6 I have now though! Mike if you could make an 8-9 inch bait that swam the exact same way as a little claw I would buy them ALL.

I do make a 7.5 inch that will act just like the Little Claw. I have a small amount of the right wood in stock and the lips to build them. Michelle has two Prototypes that she loves. One of hers is weighted and one is not. Both perform excellent.
I did try to recreate the little claw in larger sizes. Wood, lips and other things come into play that really effected the larger versions. I have not marketed the 7.5 because its just 3/4 of an inch longer and a little bigger profile. Joe Bednar has one he really likes as well. I had all kinds of trouble making it 8 inches. Very hard to up size a lure of this type. I had some guys try therm a few years back. 7.5,7.75 and 8 inch versions with different lips and wood types. The 8 that I throw now acts more like a Jake or Grandma then the original Little Claw. So the 7.5 is as large as I can build and still get that slashing kick out. Mike

Interesting, I figured it was pretty much impossible to build a big one and have it do the same tricks and kickouts to the side that a good little claw can do. If you want to build me one of those prototypes I'd love to test it out though! 😈 I like the 9 inch big game twitch but it doesn't really kick out side to side like I can make the little claws do. They also are made of balsa and I recently had a fish destroy one because of that [smilie=brickwall.gif]. My cocoa perch little claw has 7 muskies and about 29371973973 pike and bass on it now and while it has tooth holes and hundreds of scratches it still swims the same.

Little Claws are made of Oak which makes them hard and I soak them in Zars sanding sealer twice to seal the grain. THIS MAKES THEM SMOOTH AND HARD. They slash through the water with that small lip drumming and then when they hit the slack they spin out. That side ways kick out has been responsible for thousands of Muskies all over the country and Canada.

Stepping it up to a 8 or 9 inch bait really means everything has to be increased equal including the line weight, rod ,leaders, wood , lip, hooks clear coat . Its unreal how the 6.75 to 7.5 will kick sweet but add another 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch and the thing just comes at you or flies out of the water. My 8 inch Claw is made of Cherry and will work you but will produce well on the deeper edge as the bait gets down 5 to 8 feet ripped hard. But yes, I can make you a 7.5. color? Mike
