Bobbies for me are a weed bait. Meaning I want them super buoyant so they can dive into the weeds and back out, I fish them the same places I fish a 10" Believer. You can slow the rise by adding weight or buy the weighted version. This is one of the few baits I don't alter in some way and I fish it straight out of the box.
Bobbies are more bouyant than Suicks, similar to the Hi Fin Fooler, but don't be fooled. ; ) They back up or "pop up" quicker than a suick because of the body mass. I use all 3 non weighted models over weeds, even shallow weeds. I use the weighted models over weeds as well as on the outside edges. As Will stated, the Bobbies really don't need much tuning other than a slight downward bend of the tail if you so desire for change in depth/action. Many more modifications for Suicks.
