Ok I`ll start by answering my own post…..18 more to go…LOL…..

See some new water….some of the 2000 year stocked lakes…(said that last year)
See LSC/detroit river once again
See some new faces…..

Catch & release a 50….still lookin…..maybe I`ll get it with Will or on a Indiana lake,or one of Michigans OLDER lakes..

Fish smarter
Pick better times to fish(not a big fan of the 4-till dark weeknights in the summer anymore,to much rec traffic way up until dusk, which really makes that time frame useless)

Take a break and fish more for fun.(sunnies,walleyes,salmon,LGRB`s,stream/river smallies)

Try and get my wife back into the fun of it…not making it so serious of a time when she`s out..

Learn some tricks/tactics from other members..

DU

once again….I`d settle for a personal best 48 fatty….not necessarily a 50.. 8)

I'm due for a 50"…..aren't I 🙄
Also spend more time in the boat with the wife and kids and get them fish.
Finally get over and fish with NSTAGATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not setting a numbers goal anymore, I never seem to get enough time on the water to meet them with the kids, their sports, and work.
So this year I'm going to just relax and fish, if I catch fish great, if not
at least I was spending time on the water.
2006 is the year of no pressure!!!

I'm gaining my muskie experience slowly. I've caught a couple by trolling. That covers my novice initiation. Now in 2006 I'd like to graduate up to catching muskie by casting or jigging. I'm looking for that first heavy arm socket jerking strike.

A guy I met at Murray Lake boat launch told me about an 84" muskie the DNR shocked up that was eating swans.

Then there's the 100" muskie at Sanford that someone had swim under their pontoon.

The DNR has also netted a number of muskies over 80 pounds in Thornapple while doing the egg take.

Just say no to drugs!

This one time in the UP We were at Lucky "The Liars" bait shop and he told us about the 70" in Chicagoan Lake(yes everyone up there pronounces it WRONG)! He hooked it and it sat under the boat shaking its head. Cuz' everyone knows the true world record will come out of there bappity blah blah… He said he cranked his drag fown trying to land it but his 30# mono broke 👿 We gave him a good lesson on superbraid which he completely ignored. We left and did not return.

I stopped there about 8 years ago and this lady working there told me about that same fish. She said they called it jaws and everyone who has ever hooked it gets spooled. She also told me how some trout fisherman caught a 58-incher in one of the lakes and since they hate muskies so much, they cut it's head off and put in on their car like a hood ornament and drove around town like that.

Yea, I talked to that lucky guy too. He told me the the same thing, exept he said it was 65" long and couldn't get it off the bottom. he also told me about a muskie washed up there that was 64" long without the tail. Then he told me he will for sure catch the next world record out of lake superior, because he knows where there are 60 + inch fish that feed over clam beds in the kewenau bay. Then he asked me what my biggest fish I caught was and I said 40 something inches, and he was like boy " you must not musky fish much" I truly believe I have never met someone more full of sh*t in my life. But, It was fun listening and you need a few guys like that I guess. Adam

I will be fishing 3-5 days a week this season, maybe more. i will be on sanford almost every day/night..also travel downstate to see some new lakes. mainly try some of the 100 new lures i went nuts and bought this winter.

I did hear about a 50"+ fish washing up on sanford, i heard it had "holes" in it. the source wasn't the most accurate, but it may be true.

SOAP BOX TIME!
What I would like to see is less of the same 4 or 5 guys doing everything for the club and a few other members getting involved, I am not saying that I do not appreciate what those of you have done for the fish, fishery and club over the years. Great Job! and keep it up but the rest of us(myself included) need to do a little more, you know if everyone just pitched in a little bit we could move a mountain so to speak. And before anyone complains about having no time; answer me this what are you doing that is so important and constructive while you read this and type your reply?
