the 7000s with the 4.1:1 work great for big bucktails and other big baits but i dont like them for a lot of situations because the gear ratio is so low you have to work really hard (reel really fast) to fish a lot of baits correctly. I dont like it for anything other than cowgirls and ripping big cranks. I havent used any other trolling reels but the 7000 with the real low gear ratio has held up to the big bladed baits for me. Its a little weird fishing it at first since it is so big, but after awhile it is really nice.

I picked up a 7001i because of the instant anti, but the reel has a lever to release the spool. I hated it… I also had trouble with the instant anti. Finally, I didn't like the feel of the reel in my hand. Just my opionion…

I have a couple 7001 HSN (5.3:1) and a 7001 CS from UK (4.1:1). Both of these models have push button spool releases and no instant anti reverse. The 7001 HSN works good for throwing larger baits in a current situation, but in "normal" situations the 7001 CS works well too. I have not had any trouble with the 7001 CS, but I have had the 7001 HSN's rebuilt or replaced a couple times. You really have to be careful with the 5.3:1 gears that you stop the spool on a cast with your thumb completely before you engage the handle.

If the Indurons are getting good reports, I would try that reel. I have a shimano 400TE that has the same ratio, feel etc., and it works ok. I do like the larger spools on the Abu 7000 reels. They take up a ton of line with one crank.

I have long fingers, so palming the 7000's are no problem. I could see where it could be tough for a guy with stubs…
