It's time to replace the tires on the trailer. $200 in Gander Mountain gift certificates, they carry Carlisle and Towmaster. Which would be the better choice?

This is one area when there is no Ford/Chevy/Dodge type debate. Sell the Gander Gift certificates or save them for something else.

Goodyear Marathons are the only trailer tire you should consider. There's a reason Ranger and Triton only put Marathons on their trailers, they're the best. My current trailer came with a set of Carlisles and I wore them out in just over a year. Yes, I put a lot of miles on a trailer and need the best or I'll just wear them out. The pros at Belle Tire said there's only one answer, I replaced them with Marathons and have three seasons on these and they still look great.

I know the Marathons would be the best choice but I simply cant afford them now. I really need new tires before the trek up to Central Lake so unfortunatly it looks like my only choice is to get them at Gander with the gift cert. I just called there and they said they also carry Duro? tires.

I would probaly go with the Carlisle;s with no other choice. Also make sure you run nearly full pressure as recommended and do a cheap alignment. Measure your axle from the corner of the trailer on both sides and make sure it is square. My old trailer would shift occassionaly from crappy launches and rocks…and trees…and other stuff 😕

I believe the Carlisles are made in the USA,dont forget about that
when comparing to something from over seas.

Don't buy the Carlisles! I have had them on my trailer for the past four years. I have gotten a blow out EVERY year. I talked with a trailer dealer in the area and he stated that Carlisles are garbage and blow everytime it gets warm outside. I think they are dangerous. I have replacing them this year. dr
