I'll be at the lower falls the last weekend in August and I was thinking of trying the river for muskies. Will it be too warm to fish them? Do the same lures/tactics apply to rivers as they do lakes? Thakns for the help.

You should be just fine the last week of August. The Tahq can get too warm sometimes, but not too often and not for very long, and by the end of August the water should have started its downward trend somewhat. And yup your same lake tactics will work just fine, especially in the Lower Tahquamenon where the current is pretty minimal in late summer.
