DNR: Survival rate for Great Lakes muskie program tops 2010
MATTAWAN — State officials are reporting good survival for Great Lakes muskie being reared at the Wolf Lake hatchery after a dismal start to the new stocking program this spring.
More than 14,000 Great Lakes muskie were transferred to rearing ponds after difficulties collecting female fish from Lake St. Clair this spring, said Matt Hughes, Department of Natural Resources biologist at the state’s Wolf Lake fish hatchery.
