I'm upgrading my bowmount this season. Cable steer or electric steer? which is more dependable? easier to stow and deploy?hold a charge? user friendly?

Thanks,
Jason

Maxxum is the easiest and has fewer problems. Both have their applications. Like having more than 1 fishing rod.LOL Open water like LSC powerdrive and contour fishing I would choose the Maxxum.

I will NOT have either on my next ride, I'm sure of that. After having both for a number of years my next boat will have the Maxxum 3x steering. I've had cables break on the cable drive, plus you can't point and run a cable drive since it will spin. I've had pedals quit on the powerdrive and I'm about sick of replacing them. If I thought I could get decent money out of my 65PD 60" I would make the switch but at $900 for the 80lb 62", I'm not willing to take that step.

Now, if I could retrofit my PD with a 3x control on the head for a minimal cost I would be really happy!!!

I fished with a guy one time that had a bowmount hand controlled trolling motor and he loved it. I thought it was pretty cool to but thought I would get laughed at if I went that route. The one this guy was using was the salt water version and he said it had non corrosive parts in it that would improve the life of the unit.

I really like the size of the pedal of the power drive but that is it. The cables are better but that big club you put your foot on takes some getting use to.

Thanks for the feedback. Going with the Maxxum, seems to be the more dependable choice.
