I'm so ready to musky fish again it's pathetic.
It used to be all that I did (along with my father and brother). Father's health faded enough that the pullstart 25hp was to much. And my brother and I both married and started a family
I've not shaken the bug and now it's time. I'm going to D&R sports to check out a Pro Guide V16 with 40 or 50hp on Sunday.
I think that alot of things that we overlooked due mostly to a lack of patience and observation, I can capitalize on this year. Just need to shake about 12 to 15 years of cob webs!!
Look forward to Joining MMA
Well I ended up buying a Tracker Pro Guide V16. W/50hp Merc 2 stroke. This boat looks like it'll be well suited to Musky fishing. 86" beam, nice and deap, with tons of storage. The rod boxes are only 7' but that's what most are I guess. Came with a 40lb Minn Kota Powerdrive. I've used the powerdrive's and like them alot, but wish they would have packaged a bigger motor. (But that would drive up the cost-can't have it all I guess)
The thing has a huge livewell.
They had a 8hp Merc Kicker on sale for $1,300 and I didn't buy it, but it's on my list for sure.
I've got to pick up some misc stuff and I 'might' be on Webster tomorrow.
Told you I was ready!!
