Okay everybody a couple tips for Intermediate.
Muskypimp and I managed to establish a fairly good pattern over several days and the Kings helped to confirm it. We also met some real cool local Musky guys that make our obsession seem real mild 😯 😯 They are hardcore and very conservation minded. We talked to them for hours and they confrimed what we had figured out as well, hopefully some of you will get a chance to meet them this coming weekend.
Colors- Plan on naturals like perch and frog being good. Also spinners Gold/yellow/brown or copper/red/yellow or similar yellow and gold seem to be the keys with these.
trinitys are a local favorite gold/brown/orange.
Suicks in Frog or firetiger and Poe's in green/yellow.
I had alot of action myself on spoons- the red/white trolldevle was hot all opener. The fish I caught was on a firebelly Ernie which also got a hog follow on the last trip.
We saw more fish when we casted along the breaks as they seem to come from deeper water so when casting dont ignore the out the front and out the back cast as well as to the open water side.
Plan on concentrating on the upper lakes, they are warmer and have much better growth. There is a lot of water to share and something for both trollers and casters. Intermediate itself is BIG and can be frustrating, it is better suited to trollers than casters.
ALSO there are 16 people who have said they will be there. If you have not yet told me you will be there and are planning on it please let me know either on this thread or the one under "outings" If you are a strong maybe, please let me know. We would rather have too much food than not enough. This is a great lake and a great opportunity at some solid fish I would encourage everyone to take advantage of this outing and make the trip.
It looks like we will have a stable weather pattern right up to the outing so it will likely mean cooperative fish.
