DAIWA Millionaire, I own three CV-Z 253's and have not had any problems. They are super smooth. I have had minor issues(wear and tear) with two of my four Abu Morrums (which they do not make anymore), but the millionaires are IMHO a better reel. I also use and love the low profile Team Daiwa X HSD both the 100 model and 103 model. The 100 has a better line capacity than the 103. They are definitely not made for larger/heavier muskie lures though, great for smaller baits and bucktails.
Hi Guys, Michelle and I tried out the 250 and 300 Avid reels(hopped up Millionaire) Loved the smoothness and metal thumb bar. I had several issues with a loud howl when the reel was cold(below 45 degrees) Only did it when casting hard. It would clear up after the reel warmed up. Light oiling of the little brakes also would quiet it down. Michelle loved the 250 and has me ordering her another one plus she is taking my 300 for her wood rod. I just ordered two of the bigger sized Abu RECORDS. Quite a bit lees money. I hope they perform well. I have also been using the Phluger Trion low profile with 40 lb power pro on a heavey action flippin stick. I love this reel for tossing small stuff like little cranes and Bagleys. I wish the Phluger Trion came in a magnum size that would hold 100 yards of 65 lb braid. Its a reall good quality reel and for 99 bucks a real good buy. Kingfisher
