bucktail??

Rubber skirt???

Maribou???

other???

I tried to make that a poll but it didn't work, so as long as I am at it I want to know what your favorite color combo's are to.

hair/balde

I personally have had the most success on dark hair and brass blades.

I am going to try and manipulate some of the baits I have right now by cutting off the bucktails and tying on maribou. Anybody ever use purple/chart??

I have tails in Bucktail, Marabou and rubber dressings.
Favorite color combos are:
Black/Nickel
Black/Flo. Red
White/White
Brown/Brass

Dont have alot of confidence in chartruese. Maybe if I fished dark water I would feel different. I dont have any chartruese anymore.

Best producer last year was a Black #8 Indiana blade Black body ,black bucktail with a black trailor grub from Gapens. I also do well with a #8 chartruse blade ,black and chartruse bucktail.#8 Nickel Blade , Black Bucktail with red feathers trailing. Have had a lot of fish up on Brown and black combinations as well. Also had one a couple years ago that had lot of action. Gold Blade with brown Bucktail and an orange trailor grub. Kingfisher

For some older history on Muskegon Co Big Blue Lake tiger musky days….

Today there is more selection and materials to work with for customizing spinners. Several years ago our local sport shops did not have selections of musky spinners to choose from. Thus, the locals modified the large Mepp spinners by rearranging the treble hook and added the salmon flash flies as attachments to extend the total length of the spinner profile. They then used the longer profile for trolling. This worked well at the time.

After the fishing day was done it was typical back then to be very secretive. They would take off the long spinners and put on the standard red/white daredevil to ride back to the dock. The dumb tourist at the dock would be impressed and they would all troll daredevils.
