I must say that my Beckman finsaver net pen has been my best purchase this year. I'm glad my old Beckman fell into the drink! Seriously, the fish are just able to chill while you are unhooking and preparing for pics. The largest fish we put in it so far has been a 47" and he looked quite comfy in it! Every fish seems as if it's raring to go at release time. If you are looking for a net, this is one I'd recommend. Anyone else have a "purchase of the year"?

Best for me is my Hummingbird GPS/Sonar combo. It's my first year fishing with GPS, and I wish I hadn't waited so long to do so.

And of course that hitch cover makes the back end of your truck look better. Cool

I am digging the 9 foot dawg special rod (Tackle Industries "mega heavy"). I have been a little late to the long rod party, but for big rubber it is a winner!

I purchased more booze this year and it has helped drown my muskie sorrows more than a few times.

+1 for me on that! I'll probably try to get another one in the next year or two to set on a tripod in the back of the boat so I can get footage from my point of view and from a camera always focused on me.

That would be pretty cool, but even if I just have it on a regular tripod it would still get good footage as it's such a wide angle lens.

New (to me) boat. The 1436 jon just wasn't cutting it.

I fished out of a 1236 Jon for years including my first 2 years of musky fishing so I know how big of a pain that can be.

Best purchase, Red October Twisted Tubes. I had always been anti-tube (for no reason, I had never even tried them) but now that I gave in they have become my favorite baits.
