Water temp: 48 to 56 (depending on the lake and time of day)
Water clarity/color: Clear with a slight stain almost everywhere.
Weed growth: Not much new growth most consisted of old coontail and some new cabbage.

Saw some fish spawning which was very cool. Moved a decent number of fish, lost one as we were taking to Ken (Kmur), had a few follows each day and caught one. It was a good trip to a beautiful place. As we were eating at the local pizza place on Friday there were two tables talking about some muskie club that was in town and they rented all of Cedars resort for the weekend – HAHAHAHAHAHA… MMA was the talk of the town.

Special thanks to Nick Popoff (biologist MI-DNR) for coming down and taking the time to visit with our group and talk about the study, netting and tracking of the muskies in the Elk Chain.

Almost forgot… between a few hours Saturday night and Sunday morning I'm pretty sure we caught EVERY pike in the north end of Benway Lake.

Thanks to Will and Kevin for putting this together. I must say I'm glad a spot freed up and I was talked into going. It was a great time getting to know the boys better over beers and fishing in such a beautiful area. I'm hooked. Thanks to all the guys that went up, I had a blast. Best part was a 24 inch walleye hitting my Manta boat side after following it in from some distance. I've never seen a walleye hang around and hit a glide bait like that boat side. My guess is it was a really hungry post spawn fish.

I had a great time at Cedar's. Thanks for all the hospitality. It was cool to talk with some of the guys I've never met before. Also putting a beautiful personal best in the net made it all the better.

I want to back up already!!!!!

Thanks again Kevin and Will for setting it up [smilie=applause.gif]
