Michelle and I went up to Skegamog on saturday to prepare for our Guest Jeff Stewart (winner of the Day of fishing auction) . Water temps at 67 . We trolled the edges looking for Cabbage and found some nice greens in front of the Torch river mouth. Raised one fish there. Casted the saddle between Elk and Skeg at dark. Michelle caught one pike and had a Blow up from a bigger fish. I missed one as well on Top water. Decided to fish Elk the next day. It was good choice.

Met Jeff at the boat launch at 6:45 . We did a little trolling and casting in Skegamog and decided to pull up and troll Elk. Water temps 67.5 most every where. Concentrated on points and verticle drops. Banged a real nice fish in 45 feet of water on an olive frog NILS with one of my custon paint jobs on it. Jeff was very happy. Ill let him fill in the details and we will get some pictures posted of her.
Fish were holding all over the lake in 25 to 180 feet. Most were located off verticle drops and points in 35 to 65 feet of water. We ran a full spread with planer boards, sliders, down rods and 10 foot out rods. Baits pulled were Talonz Deepthreats, Dragon Claws, Nils, Lokes and 13 inch Grandmas. Jeffs fish came on a Slider 30 back with 4 ounces. He had to hand line it in Wink . Mike and Michelle

Not bad for a white boy from Lowell, Huh. What a great day, I can not say enough about what a great day I had. The king, and Queen were a deep well of muskie info, and I was glad to be able to be in there company! They made it a day I will remeber for all my life! These are the kind of folks that make the MMA such a great group. If anyone wants to know the secret to catching these kinds of fish on the Elk lake, Mike is the guy that has the ((SCIENCE)) to do it! [smilie=lock.gif]

P.S. Fisher Price gave the fish a six lick approval. [smilie=longtongue.gif]

Terrific job, very rewarding on those waters. Mike has had two really noteworthy guiding jobs this year, this one and the 43" fly-rod fish earlier. Super job!

It was really a M.M.A. Team effort. I had help from Will on what type of structure to fish and combining his suggestions with my bull dog approach to fishing that small section of water produced big. It was our third pass through that area in 15 minutes. It just looked so good I had to hit it back and forth a couple of times. It was a very pretty fish. Kingfisher
