Took the boys up to the backwaters for some tipup fishing
on Saturday… It's been a couple years since i've been up to this spot.
WOW was it slow….we went 2 for 5 on the tip-ups. Hunter got a 22" pike and Gage got a 18"er… Tried some jigging for panfish, that was a waste of time, no takers…everyone else was having a slow day also..
Had a fun day…built a fire on the shoreline, the boys roasted hot dogs,
and we saw some otters in the river channel, a couple bald eagles,
and a huge flock of swans landed about 60 yds from us…
I can't think of a better way to spend a winter day….
I had to drag the boys off the ice, they wanted to stay the night!!!!

That's great Bomba. Catching fish is secondary to the time on the water and in the outdoors with kids!
They remember that kind of stuff forever.
