Dave and I fished the Chain and IM opening weekend. Water temps were 56.6 to 58.4, the visibility was about 10 to 12 feet and mildly stained. Weeds were up to to three feet in some areas with coontail and curlyleaf coming on strong. Very few boaters only saw three other Musky boats and they were staying in one spot. Moved a horse ten minutes in, she came after a Mepps Marabou gold/yellow/red. Did not see her again. A few pike and bass throughout. Missed a nice ski on a red/white troll devle and have the sideways tooth marks to prove it 😡 Watched a perch fisherman land a 50 +/- and have it tear through his net as he tried to put her in the boat. Went and talked some C and R and handling techniques to him. Managed to fool one on Sunday on a fire belly Ernie. Good weekend overall, got the pavilion rented for the outing and met two real cool musky heads from up there. Moved nine fish, missed two and caught one- see photo forum. You guys are gonna like this lake!!
