Water temp: 70-74
Water clarity/color: Visiblity 4' in the clearest areas and 2' in the areas with a little more bloom.
Weed growth: Great looking coontail in some areas, normal milfoil in other areas that is a mix between alive and dead. Did find some new growth pondweed in a couple areas.
If days are judged by the number of fish that tried get caught ,we had a very good day. If days are judged by the number that find their way into the net… well, it wasn't a good day at all. 0 for four – doh.

It was a nice day out on Thorn saturday , I think we were the only two boats out Muskie fishing that i saw….
Did you see us catch one while you were waiting for the boat ramp to clear?…..We did alright trolling that day……Did u contact alot of fish casting?
I said to Trevor that I thought I saw a net in the water. He said "maybe we should have trolled a little" and I said "only if you want to see me slash my wrists!"
It was a good day for Thornapple, two follows (that were visible) and four missed or lost.

Any tips you can give me? I'll be taking my first trip tp Thorn this Saturday and I have no idea what to expect.
At just over 400 acres you can cover the whole thing in a day. The good spots are obvious on a map or from driving around. The water will be green and visibility will be poor, don't expect to see following fish. This fishery is much lower density than other lakes in southern Michigan so making contact with fish is twice as hard on Thornapple. Best bets for baits would be bucktails and crankbaits, high contrast colors.
