Water temp 39. Air temp around 30 with a strong SW wind.

Fished 10:45am-3:45pm. This was one cold day! I wish I could say the muskies welcomed my presence, but I caught nothing. The only real grouping of fish I could see on the depthfinder were suspended over 60'. Unless the temperature moderates some, this may have been my last trip. After the last two years of fishing into January, I had to expect that it would even out one of these years and get cold early. Regretably, didn't get the one I was looking for in the late season.

You sure qualify for the Hardcore Esox Nut award though! Great work staying after them in really tough conditions. We saw tons of bait stacked top to bottom in certain deeper areas too the other day, just couldn't get any takers in those places.

Thanks Joe and Scott for acknowledging my stubborn streak! I AM going out on Friday the 5th for a few hours. With the cold forecasted for next week, Murray will be frozen soon. Though after seeing Todd Frank's pics of leaving a broken ice trail out from the ramp, someone is definitely far more stubborn then me!

Well, if there's fish to be caught, I guess I'll try it! [smilie=biggrin.gif]

Jim,

Just think, it will be so cold, our teeth will be chattering and we won't be able to speak any nasty words to the muskies!
