fished: 4-8pm
water temp: 61-63
weeds: still lots of green milfoil in deeper water. Celery still around but starting to die off i think
clarity: 8'+

Fish were located on the edge and in the shallows. Had action on cranks right on the edge and bucktails/topwaters in the shallows and over the edge. Fish were a lot more active (aggressive) than last week and bigger fish were showing themselves more.

I've been waiting for the fish to move back shallow. The time has come! That's strange, tho…. we ( Tom & I) figured the fish would be by the breaks @ Ovid, also, but all the fish we contacted weren't anywhere near the drop-offs. We started shallow, but worked our way out, and found them. Sure is a pain in the butt when you have to find different patterns in different lakes with the same water temps. Oh, well. 🙄

Thats what makes it fun though; to figure things out 😀 . Also, different types of lakes with different cover, structure and forage.

Jason,

I want to congratulate you for the way you've grown as a muskie hunter this year. I think it's safe to say that last year's total catch has probably been doubled this year.
You did it the right way, listening to instruction, willing to do things outside previous "comfort zones", but mostly, through hard work. Thanks for sharing your results with the rest of us!

Thanks a lot! I feel I have gotten a lot better at things, but still have a long way to go. Late last fall was a little tough for me so we'll see what I can do in these next couple months. It is amazing to me though how a couple little things here and there can be the difference between 0 to 1 fish and 2 to 3 fish days. Just getting little triggers down and better figure 8's has put a lot more fish in the boat for me.

Jason,

I agree with spnplugger that you have really worked hard and I enjoy fishing with you and I have a learned a lot from you and I am glad you are having such a good year.
