Any ever fished this? I am looking for info on this lake, but its hard to find any solid info on the net about it. Anyone who has fished it let me know and if its worth fishing there.

You probably won't find much, even on here there aren't many reports because there really aren't too many people fishing there.

It is a nice lake that has been stocked fairly consistently.
2005 – 760
2004 – 760
2000 – 500
1999 – 506

The 99 and 00 females should be nice fish somewhere aroung 45-48".

Yea, ive seen a few post's from Long lake, but was wondering if it was the same long lake. Looking at the fish that have been stocked there has to be some decent fish on there like you said. I just dont think a lot of people fish it, like one of the posts said, they didnt see anyone else on the lake muskie fishing.

There are a few residents who fish it, and a few travelling musky fishermen who fish it every now and then. It is extremely clear water, thick weed growth in some areas, sharp breaklines, nice deep water. Heavily developed like all S.LP lakes, pleasure boats abound. Very nice lake

It's actually in St. Joseph County, just a couple miles NW of Three Rivers. Its a good 40 miles east of the city of St. Joseph. The closest muskie lake to St. Joe(city) would be Round Lake. Its over in Sister Lakes, maybe 12 miles east of St. Joe.

Does anyone have a map to post of this mysterious lake? NW of 3Rivers… That would put it around the Bangor area then? Am I getting close? Or maybe by Gobles or PawPaw? Or a little farther south… Lawton? Which one would be the closest? There's too many Long Lakes!!! [smilie=brickwall.gif]

06S 12W Sec 07, 08, and 18 is the version 2 map. There is a another DNR boat ramp that has link enabled browsing but I would have to search a bit for it..

There are no muskies in Long lake Cool Go to Diane 😀 [smilie=brows.gif] [smilie=brows.gif] [smilie=brows.gif] . I have caught one there. Trolling is not effective as the water is so clear. Steep breaks like Murray in some spots. Seems to have lots of big Bluegills. Muskies there seem to be good thick fish but finding them is not easy. I know a couple of guys who fish it regular because they live right by it. Not much to report when you dont catch many. I have wanted to go there in the late fall on a very nasty day with wind and rain to see If I could get past the clear water with some chop and low light conditions. I have caught one Musky there in 3 trips. 37 incher . Mike and Michelle

I like how that Department of Natural Resources says long lake only has walleyes stocked in it, then on the Michigan DNR site it says Muskies are stocked in it.

But after looking at it, there are 2 long lake specifications saying fabius township and colon? The colon twp one says only walleye, then the fabius or w/e says musky

Who in the DNR said it only had walleyes stocked?

ur quick at posting will, i just edited that post, on the link someone posted earlier in the thread saying they use it to find bodies of water. I clicked on that and searched the long lake on there, and only one comes up for St joseph county, and when u click on that it says only walleye and catfish are in long lake. But then when I look through that DNR stockin link you posted the other day there are 2 long Lakes, one in Colon township and one in Fabius? or however it spelled, and the fabius one says there are muskies and the colon one is the one that says only walleyes. So i dont know if the lakes are 2 separate lakes or what?

Yes, two totally different lakes.

I forget the exact number but I thought I was told there are somewhere around 250 Long Lakes in Michigan.

Check this out. Make sure "aerial" view is turned on, if it doesn't come up that way.
