Fished: 10-2
Temp: 69-71
Clarity: very good actually, 3-4' on campau and 6-7 feet in kettle
Weed growth: Lots of sand grass type stuff with pondweed mixed in here and there

Only two other boats out on the lake and both were fishing for panfish. Didnt have any follows but hooked 3 and landed 2 of them. Got a 38" around 11:15am on the inside weed edge and got a 43" at 12:30 on the outside weed edge. Missed/lost about a 35" at 1:15 on the ouside weed edge as well. All fish hit a red/red DCG (the magic bait!!) Mostly fished campau and that is where the fish were hooked. Sped up/slowed down/twitched and pulled the bait to get the strikes.

NICE!!! Double fish day at Campau! I was thinking about hitting it after work today. Hope I can catch some of the action too.

yeah I was pretty suprised to get three strikes in only four hours on the water. Heres the pic of the 43". Took it by myself but it still turned out really well. Dont have a pic of the 38" but I might have video of it as I set the camcorder on a tripod in the back and was recording when she hit; we'll see how good the footage is though. Im pretty sure the 38 was blind in one eye as the right eye was very discolored and redish. The fish was also very skinny but it sure didnt seem to have any trouble nailing my bucktail.

Good job Jason! Looking at your picture and at how far your forearms extend out from your body makes me think my 31" er this spring is longer than what I measured it to be. I have a sticker inside the boat, ON the boat. It goes under the seat 'straps so I could not lay the fish up against to get an accurate number. Keep looking at the photo and wonder…… [smilie=crazy.gif]

Well thats definetely not a 31" hahaha. I aways hold my arms out pretty far as it makes the fish look bigger and makes a much better picture. I just love looking at pictures of fish and holding them out makes a better picture to look at. Like Hemi said I am 6'7-6'8 so if I held the fish close to my body it would look like a 31"

heres the video of the 38". It's a very rough edit as I was out of the frame for some of it. Got the fish unhooked very quickly and measured it quickly in the net.

That is a beautiful Campau fish! and great video too, loved it!!! I can't imagine all the bad things that would happen if I set my video camera up on a tripod, but you tempt me into trying!…

I wonder if this is the same fish…. I found this on another site.

He says this is a 40. Looks a little smaller to me, and it's his first fish. The first one is always a few inches bigger.

Agreed with the forearm thing Jason. I rarely use the higher speed reels anymore. I only use them for eels, fast gliding baits, and for burning smaller bucktails.
