Finally got to hit the road and see some new muskie water this year, I was surprised how much I had missed little ol Campau!! It helps that the water looked great-
Fished from 6:30-10:30, green with ~4' visibility, weeds were spotty but where they grew they were nice, 76 and that there was little to no boat traffic.
Only turned up one fish but it was a dandy 44 that crushed a weagle, what a rush! One landowner in the channel expressed concern about the state of the bass fishery in the lake. Although he wasn't completely negative on muskies, he did seem to blame them for eating his bass…

What happens when you kill all of the weeds in the lake while the bass are nesting? Hmm… Then again, it's probably the fault of the muskies that the lake gets treated for weeds.
Is it the guy over by the lilly pads on the east side? He was ranting and raving to me how all the good bass are gone out of that lake since the muskies got big (60" according to him) 🙄 He mentioned to me that last year he had on about an 18" bass. He was fighting and fighting and then his line got really heavy. Next thing he knew, no weight was there and all he pulled up was the head. "Get them damn muskies outta here! I don't care if it's legal size or not. I won't tell anybody!"
