Took the family to Oster for some swimming, gilling and then some
skiing. We had a great time with good weather but little luck on
the fishing side.1 blow up at dusk,no hooks.
Water is a little dark as expected from the storms, including 2 large
uprooted trees along the shoreline.
Water temp was 78-79 around 4pm,dropping to 75 at dusk.

I fished Osterhout on 8/27. Fished from 5:30a-11:30am. Didn't move a fish. Water temp was 75-76, and the water was dark. It should be clearing drastically fairly soon. Weeds were very fishable!

Right in the cottages yards to the left of the launch as you look-out
into the lake. NE side? They were big trees with the roots still attached.
There is a heck of a nice house being built over there as well.To live
on a muskie lake…..Priceless!!

The winds that did that, came with the leading edge of the storms last Thursday evening. Took out a lot of trees and power lines down here. South Bend news said wind gusts up to 80 mph. I road that storm out on Round Lake, but I dont think there was anything much over 60mph 🙄 . The wind lasted maybe, ten minutes.
I've road out a lot of storms, but never wind like that. The wind came up so fast and so strong you could see it blowing up a sheet of spray coming across the lake. I only had time to get the outboard fired up, never even got the trolling motor up, and I was soaked before it ever started raining.
Then after all that, the lightning started up and I had to leave anyway 😡 .
Made two detours for downed trees on the way home. AHHHH Musky weather, ya gotta love it 😈 😈 .
