Water clear, temp to 68 or so, first time I made it there this year but it seemed like less weeds than past seasons. Thought the back to back cool fronts late this week would slow things down but no excuses, I just SUCK! Lost track of how many I moved, including a few nice ones, and couldn't get a single fish to eat. Thought my 8's weren't too bad, and accelerated baits when I saw the fish out in the retrieve a ways, that brought 'em rushing on but still didn't take. It made me crazy all day, yet I thought I'd still get a hit at some point. Trolled some too in trying to actually hook-up, but no action with that, so mainly casted.
Maybe ya'll have educated these fish too much, of course fish don't have to be all that smart to give me a tough time. Was ready to throw my tackle overboard by the end of the day…but I had called in sick to work so it beat the hell out of showing up at the office…
Hi Joe, not surprised to hear they came out to play. They have had a lot of pressure the last two weeks. I found that top water was the key to getting tons of hits. I just suck at hooking fish on top water

. Michelle and I both got fish on top water on the 25th . Michelle got a nice 41 on a tan perch little claw twitch version. We had to be right on the edges of lilly pads or other tight cover. We also trolled up nothing. Mike
