fished with my brother and dad from 4:20-8:20pm. First half hour pops had two follows and lost one on a figure 8 on his new suzy sucker. After a little bit of a slow down the fishing picked up. My brother missed one, i messed up on an 8, then my bro landed his PB at 43" and very fat. Had a lot of other follows and a couple slashes along with my dad losing another on the 8. Water clarity very good and weeds still pretty thick. Not a lot of weeds floating either. Saw one other musky boat out there but no other skiers or anything which was surprising. Last couple of times the fish really seem to be eating at boatside compared to the summer.
we did not get a water temp because our graphs dont work on the boat. We did see the ones that hit on the 8. The water was very clear so we saw them following from a ways off and then started figure 8ing. One of them hit on the first turn, the other after about 10 turns. Only one today came out of nowhere and slashed at my magdawg; all the rest you could see easily following and start your 8. We just do a large circle instead of an 8, and we have noticed that they get really excited when you elevate and speed up on the turn going away from the boat. Weve had 3 fish eat in the last 2 times out right after doing that. You should be able to see the follows before starting your 8, but doing a J/L turn after every cast is always a good idea.
Looks like I will be there in the afternoon. Red Naden with the little Honda on da back. May or may not be alone. Someone from work may tag along to get some sun. Maybe she can shoot a picture if the gods smile down on me for a change. I just dont have a pulse before 9 am. I'm still reeling from that early trip with Bryan, and that was last October.
