Weather was changing all morning from strong northwest winds to strong west winds – 15-25 mph, with heavy clound cover and intermittent drizzle thinning out by 10 am. Surface temps ~65F. Clarity varied from murky in open areas to clear on the wind-protected beds.

Had not seen any reports or heard of results from Budd since the spring VHSv reports…

Flurry of action around 10:30 – 11:30 on inside turns in the weed edges. Had 7 follows, only one of which exceeded 40 inches. Several small fish in the upper 20's. One around 30 thrashed on my partner's 7.5" Grandma before getting off. Several other short strikes, and then nothing. Marked some larger fish 5 feet from bottom of the deeper basin areas. Fish were responding to anything we threw, but committing to nothing, typical at Budd.
