Wow what a nice day!!!! no gloves and no rain suit. water temps warmer than last week. 44 calm side 46 to 47 on the wind blown end. Once again I proved that top water must be in the boat from ice out to ice up. I started up in the southern end in 4 feet of water casting a weagle with long bomb casts up in to the dark areas and scattered small weed clumps. It was calm and flat as glass in this area. I worked the Weagle with soft pulls making quiet swooshes. A 34 incher had to come and play. He missed it on the first try but dog boned it two swooshes later. That was at 7:35(first light). I went all day without another hit. Trolling no bites, jigs,dawgs and even some big bucktails. I worked the entire lake hard and only managed one other follow. The big girls are sitting tight and even the mid size 37 to 40 inchers are not playing. One day left where to go??? Kingfisher
