Michelle and I fished Lower Crooked for the first time today(tuesday). Rained hard all morning we got soaked but Shell bagged a 33 on a custom Pearl and brown Crane 205. This lake is almost completely weed choked. Most weeds on the surface so thick that there is no way to fish it at all. Trolling motor got wound up with weeds more than a dozen times. Water temps were 58/59 . Saw fish boiling under the mats of weeds but had no way to fish them. Michelles came from a small open pocket in 8 feet of water. There are a few areas where you can cast but you need to be able to see the open pockets or it will be tough. trolling could not be done there as well. Doubt Ill go back . Kingfisher
oops forgot Austin. Left Lower Crooked at 10:45 soaking wet. Went to a laundry in Plainwell and dried our clothes. got to Austin around 1:00 pm Waited till 3 for the rain to let up some and we went out. Water temps 59/60. Missed one on a Little claw caught a little one on a little Claw and Michelle got her second on the same crane bait. 30.5" Austin has some potential and may return when weeds are higher. Kingfisher
