Fished 6-11am. Visibility 6' in kettle, 3' elsewhere. Surface temp 77-79. Heavy overcast skies to start and not much traffic (by Campau standards) had me pretty fired up to be back on the puddle that I used to frequent before moving to the land of the few, the huge, the "no, not-another-pike"! Unfortunately fish activity fell woefully short of the dated standard in my head. Just an off day perhaps? Only 3 sighted all morning, nothing shallow…managed to boat 2 of them (36 and 39") on twitchers. Both fish were quite thick…that coupled with the most carp activity I've ever seen out there made me wonder what the "MMA lake record" is for ole puddle nowadays- 45"? 46"?

I`m very impressed with the lake for it seemed to be on a downward spiral a year or so ago.You and others have been doing well. The lake should still be on the LIST…which I think it is………should pop a 48 by this fall…………hopefully me in november…
