Wt 48-49
Weeds in transition from brown to green with some good grass deeper in current areas.
Visibility is great at 15 ft plus in most areas.
Poked around a bit and caught a few pike, one around 36” and some action from a few large size smallmouth. Everything was trying to eat glides and even had contact from a really nice Muskie. Unfortunately one of the worst things that could happen took place and ultimately she took the bait and leader and sliced my line clean. Everything happened so fast that I still can’t put a finger on what exactly took place but I am pretty sure the bait was never set and she probably had no trouble dislodging it if it was indeed in her mouth. The line clean cut on the hookset and the rod never really got a good load up. Just a freak incident I guess. First for me and hopefully the last.
