Wt: 34-35

Low 30s and calm winds got me out for a pleasant new years eve morning on the water with a blizzard coming thru in the afternoon. Been hitting Elk a ton over the last couple months with nothing to show for it. Contacted a couple fish this time last year out here but not a single contact this year in roughly 50 hrs on the water between Nov and Dec. The calm winds were nice but shortly after the snow rolled in, it turned out to be a thunder blizzard with some crazy lightning amidst a whiteout of snow. While it was pretty cool to witness, I didn't want to press my luck with the lightning so I called it a day.

Had to fix something on the trailer with the boat off so I went back out for a bit in the morning. Got a foot of snow overnight so putting the boat in was a chore and I didnt last long with the temps falling under 20 by midday. Might be the end of the season for me unless this weather holds out for another week or 2 and the big lakes don't lock up.

I'd say that was a great effort, considering the conditions.
