No new weed growth visible yet, this lake is so much more enjoyable in the spring when you can fish over and through the sparse dead weeds on the flats, and with good water color and clarity 3' + visibility. 10 minutes in a big fish zoomed in behind my glider, shadowed it for just a split second then took the tiniest little nip swing at it. The back hook hung on the tip of her jaw just long enough to feel the line tighten. Seemed to slightly startle the fish which cruised off – straight ahead right past the boat unfortunately, but then settled down and disappeared on the bottom.

Return trips 5 minutes later, then 1 hour, then 4 hours later did not turn her up again. Fished from 1:00 – 6:00 and that was the only musky encounter, but an exciting one for sure. Biggest fish I have ever seen on Ovid, 48ish and fat, wide and tall. Couple small marks on her but probably pre-spawn
