That fish would certainly fake you out if you didn't know the history, not knowing where Matty was fishing I responded to his message that it was a GLMUS assuming he was fishing Thronapple. HOWEVER… based on the lake and whats been stocked there it's most certainly not a GLMUS. As noted in the "spots on fins" thread you can only base the "spots on fins" as long as you know whats been stocked and what the NMUS always looked like in a given water. This fish is most likely from an Iowa stocking and those fish were known to look like this sometimes. I've seen them exactly like this in Ovid and they look like a St Clair fish including the stripes that cross their back. The mixed genetics with the Iowa fish creates a unique fishery and they come in many colors due to their multi-cultural background.
