Wed 7/19
Got out on Emily in Iron county. Temps were 76-78 in the evening. Weeds looked good throughout. 7 contacts mostly mid 30's fish with one maybe low 40's. No takers, Blades, jerks and topwaters all drew some interest.
Thurs 7/20 Morn
Headed to a lake in the Ottawa National forest hoping to find a way to access it. After some curses and no luck gave up. Took the 20 minute drive to Bond Falls Flowage. Lots of promising looking water. Temps 73 decent weeds, drop offs and islands throughout. Coaxed a fat tank out of a weed bed off one of the islands,on one of the new Kramer Bros bucktails, went around on the 8 like three times but wouldnt go.
Thurs 7/20 Eve
Back to Emily, temps still in the upper 70's. Contacted four upper 30's and was able to put one in the net.
Friday
Gambling at Island Casino, went and checked out Green Bay but wasnt sure how far south people fish for Musky's talked to a guy at one of the launches who said to go south 20 more miles and hit the Menominee River…ended up going back and losing money instead.
Sat Evening
Started heading home and stopped in Newberry to hit the flooding. Lotsa of follows, was surprised that every single one of them seemed to be from bigger fish, at least big for the flooding. No takers, but was looking forward to the morning.
Sund Morn
Woke up to thunder and lightning that lasted a few hours, called it a trip and headed home.
Good action poor results but always good to be in the UP. Headed back up on Saturday for some more Dollarville fun with a little Grassy and Cong thrown in.

Great report. Going to Iron County from 8/5 to 8/12. Probably will fish primarily Emily and Crystal Falls impoundment. Always loved the look of Bond Falls, but it's hard to leave Emily for BFF or LVD or Peavey or Chicaugon. Just so many more contacts at Emily and in the river. And there's usually one good one to keep me coming back to Emily daily. Plus I've hooked up in the morning there.
Cool to hear you moved a good one on Bond. Fished that lake for a week in the summer for nearly 30 years. Never really targeted muskies, just the occasional trolling back in the 80s, but they would make an appearance from time to time. Have seen a couple big fish come out of there over the years, but they were few and far between. They were usually pretty heavy thick. I have a fun memory of a 48-50ish inch fish that ate a rock bass I was reeling in. That was an interesting fight on a 5 1/2 ultralight. It ended as you would expect.

Took a trip to check out Stanley when we were there. Looked like a nice lake and was tempted to try it. Chickened out after hearing about the Rusty crayfish problem and then seeing like 200of them at the launch. Like to be able to fish weeds and was nervous about being able to find any…
