Spent most of the day trolling around with Chris and Matt on elk. We did manage to squeeze into skegemog and cast the narrows for a bit too which yielded an upper 40 following in on matts bulldawg low and slow and way behind the bait. We went to chris' secret elk spot which I must say is very appealing and I'm sure will yield fish in future sessions, and casted for the final hour of the day. No fish in the boat but I did get to show the trolling novices the ropes which included how to lodge and then dislodge lures from stumps. It was a great day to be on the water for the new year.
Sounds like an enjoyable day! I was up there most of last week, trying to conjure up how to escape and fish, but couldn't pull it off. The Irony is that we had great skiing with 6+" of fresh snow on top of the groomed stuff the last 3 days we were there, and the lakes were still open. I get home and could go, there is no snow and it's raining and all the local lakes were too locked up to think about getting on them, but not good enough to fish 👿
