Fished 830am to 130pm, surface temps 47, clarity average Diane for Nov so somewhat less turbid, weeds scummy and minimal in the shallows. Got one upper 30s in the net, and missed one other, each not far apart in time and location, no contact whatsoever before or after that. Typical for these fish, especially with the brief late fall windows. Had multiple trebles really pinned to the fish and tangled tight in the net after it rolled up good in there, and I desperately worked to get back to fishing knowing my only other chance the whole time out would likely be in that brief span of time.

Maybe one day retractable hooks will be invented and if we don't want to net or even handle a given fish at all, we just click a button on a remote or app on our cells, and the hooks retract to free the fish so we can get back to fishing quickly. I guess one other option would be to get in at least some more casts if the fish is stable down in the bag and the water is cold (only joking, I know it could struggle more any moment and hurt itself).
