Water Temps: All over the map from 40 in the basin down to 34 up shallower. The north end is starting to skim over near shore. Time is running out.
Water clarity: Ultra clear as always out there
Weeds: Found some surprisingly high cabbage in a couple spots in 8-12'.
Fished from 10am til just about dark in what might have been the last horrah of the year. The access had not been plowed since the snow dump over the weekend so it was pretty sketchy trying to get in. Wind was calm early which was very pleasant even with the cold temps but it picked up in the afternoon and got pretty rough and cold out there. Caught one very disappointing pike with no muskies contacted. I hate to give up on the year this soon after being spoiled with a late winter last year but these temps are doing me no favors. Forecast is calling for one 40 degree day next week which might give me one more shot, assuming there is still open water somewhere by then.
