We were fortunate enough to get a 4 day trip to LSC this past weekend. Water temps were in the low to mid 70's, depending on where we where. Water clarity was about 4 ' where we fished.
We spent a good part of the day Saturday checking spots for bait and fish as they had moved from where we had been finding them. We found fish on the South Shore in 16' to 17.5' FOW. The fish seamed to be very selective on what they wanted for both size and color. At times, there would be short, but intense feeding windows followed by prolonged dry spells, up to 6 hours long. We threw mostly rubber, with the exception of early mornings when a short blade bite was available. We had very few follows over the 4 days (9), and lost/missed several fish that I think just weren't fully committing. Our plan was to beat on the areas we knew held fish, and that's what we did for 12 hours a day. All that said, we had an unbelievable trip! We put 18 fish in the bag, including a 49.5", 50.25", and Caleb's 54" monster! That fish made the whole trip, and the rest was a bonus. I've been super blessed to spend so much time with him, chasing these fish. It was awesome watching him release such an incredible giant, and be a part of the experience. I freaking love this stuff!
