Fished from 1:30-3:30

basically just a trip to get the boat out and make sure everything was functioning

Temp ranged from 60-63.5

Visibility to 10+++ feet

Weeds were still sparse with a little bit of pondweed in clumps in normal shallow spots.

I threw some new gliders to see how they worked, and fish seemed to like them! First cast had a lazy follow, then finished that spot with an eater that popped off before I got a good look, shallow weeds with a pothole in the middle… Next spot had an eater that was mid 40's right at the break line, was a confidence builder as I saw the fish get on the tail of the bait, and converted it before it got to the boat, that one got off while trying to get the net… Then the last spot had one eat right away that was upper 40's same general pattern as the rest of the fish I saw and hooked up, only to get off at the net.
Next christmas I am asking santa for a net man!
Anyhow, good action, happy with the first trip out.

Also as a side note, I did see two pairs of fish scaring each other up pretty actively, kinda neat.

I struggled netting by myself for a while. It takes time to get good at it

I've netted a few myself, and with kids and not normally an issue. I think maybe the issue was the way gliders get hit as much as my Il-preparedness. it was still good to see a few fish and to fool em.

Yeah at this point I won't fish any glides with a large body profile. They just don't hook up as well. Anything 6inches and under isn't that bad because the fish engulf the bait. Frustrating for sure, I feel your pain….

I was out there in the morning, Had the same fish up twice an hour apart on two different baits, it did not eat. Only fish I saw. Good to see you had some action on the weather change, stupid work, I wanted to fish all day!
